Magik Brothers is the artist name of Maciej Kaniewski. Born in Poland and raised from a young age in Canada, Maciej’s passion for music has developed over the years, spawning hits in his own name as well as scoring production credits on the work of other artists. Being signed to Universal Music, BMG Canada and licensed music on dance labels such as SPG Music, Popular Records amongs many others. He has also remixed songs for artists such as Gloria Gaynor, Shawn Desman, Captain GQ, V.I.P, Jarzee Monet/DMX and many others.
Magik brothers, in its initial form, was a collaborative effort between Maciej and Ared Arzumanian writer, engineer and music producer and later bringing on board Eilona Skvirsky Vocalist/Writer. Magik Brothers scored several hits, including “Zodiac”, a top ten hit in Poland and their most well-known piece domestically.
Now, over seven years since the last Magik Brothers release, Maciej is dusting off the mixing board and bringing back the Magik Brothers name, hoping to extend and build on the legacy that has defined his musical career. Though no longer in the same squad, the Magik Brothers name lives on in the music, and through the collaborative, laid-back, and melodically hyper-focused attitude Maciej takes towards building and refining track after track, the group today feels less like a throw-back to days of old, and more like the beginning of a new chapter. It may not be the beginning for the Magik Brothers, but with new releases it could very well be a new beginning.
